A Route for All Seasons

This post has been a year in the making. Almost one year ago I started taking pictures of the cemetery in each season. As longtime readers may know, the cemetery in my town is my favorite place to run. I love its quiet length whatever the season. These pictures are of the long tree-lined drive leading into the cemetery.

Winter

Spring

Summer

Fall

Then there's one of my favorite running pictures ever, the one of me in the cemetery which accompanied the article in the Ann Arbor News two years ago:

I love the cemetery.

Awesome post! Who knew a cemetary could lead to such an enjoyable running journey??

It looks beautiful in all seasons. Great picture of you running in the rain too.

Whether it's a sunny day or not, Keats and Yeats are on your side (and Wilde too, for sure). Best wishes for a great 2010!

I have a favorite cemetery too, but it's not very big, so it's not good for running in. It's more like a place to visit along the way. There are a couple of favorite graves I like to visit, though. One is of two teenage girls killed in the infamous 1900 Galveston hurricane.

I love your photos. What a cool idea to take a picture each season!

First off these pics are so beautiful! I love them! Thanks for sharing!

Second, I think it must be a Michigan thing but I love cemetaries too... I love taking pictures in them and wandering around enjoying the quiet serenity. My Florida friends think I'm weird but my Michigan friends here are the same way.

Very cool photos. I should do some of those seasonal shots of my routes here in the city.
