There is also nothing like coming back from a run to discover you are wearing a few gnats, who have gotten stuck to, and drowned in, your sweat.
I usually come home covered in gnats around the neck and shoulders. You can count the miles by the number of gnat carcasses. Don't even need a Garmin.

The bugs like to fly directly into my eyes. Apparently the open, panting mouth is not enough of a challenge for them.
