Today was supposed to be one of the most memorable days of my life. Instead I am stuck at my aunt's house six miles away from the epicenter of the action, still wearing the same underwear I put on two days ago.
I drove to Virginia on Sunday because today I was going to meet my best friend in Washington DC so we could experience first-hand the dawn of a new era. Ah, but even the best-laid plans are subject to change; in this case, a virus swiftly and surely brought me to new lows of misery. People, I have never been so sick in my whole life. I'll spare y'all the particulars. With heavy heart I spoke to my friend yesterday and decided it was not in my best interests (nor that of anyone around me) to try and attend the inauguration. Yesterday I felt like hot garbage that had been run over by a steamroller. I felt about 5% human. Today I feel like I've been only run over by a steamroller and about 50% human. I think I might even have enough strength to take a shower and change my clothes.
Then I'll sit and watch the inauguration on TV like everybody else.

Ouch. I hope you feel better soon!
Feel better!
I'm stuck working at the library, but about seven of our branches (include the main one, where I work) have the inauguration on the big screen in their lobbies.
Teh 'Bride's b-day was yesterday. She said this - the end of the current regime - was her best present. I said, "Even better than the subscription to Runner's World I got you?"
And she sez, "I don't even run!"
And I'm all like YOINK!! "I'll take that!"
Thanks, Obama!
Oh no!!! Sounds like maybe the Noro/Norwalk-like virus. It swept through our house about 5 years ago. Never have I been so sick (out both ends...TMI?). I lost 8#s in 24 hours. Ended up with broken blood vessels in my face and slight jaundice. I wanted to die.
I hope you feel better very soon. Sorry you are missing this amazing day and have access to a big TV to watch it that way.
Feel better. Too bad about your trip to D.C. to experience the mayhem. But health is more important.
50% is a lot of human. I waver between 30-40% most days.
The hub got it over the weekend. Spent whatever time he wasn't on the toilet moaning with the explosive cramping.
I'm waiting for it to hit me.
I hope you feel better quick.
Sucks that you're sick, but from what I hear you didn't miss much, other than not being able to see anything, being freezing cold and not being able to go to the bathroom at your leisure....oh and the lines at the metro being so long that people walked from Virginia to D.C.
Feel better soon!
Sorry to hear that you are feeling sick. ICKY!
Feel better soon!
it is not something I even wish on even my worse student...then again..
Sorry you missed out on the fun.
Take care of yourself and get better. I've had something eveil for the last week myself, but yours sounds even worse!
