The Invasion Has Begun

Six boxes of Girl Scout cookies in a bag under my desk.

One box has already been broken into (Peanut Butter Patties).

Open box (minus a relatively restrained three cookies) has been placed out of sight inside drawer. This is a feeble attempt to resist temptation.

Will the box be cleaned out before the end of the day? Will I refrain from opening a box of Caramel deLites?

Past encounters with Girl Scout cookies would indicate otherwise.

I also have another order, this one for a full case of cookies, coming from a different person.

I have a weakness and it is Girl Scout cookies. Please pass the Thin Mints.

In other news, I am going to retest my knee at tonight's group run. I haven't run since Sunday's pathetic treadmill attempt. I've been very, very good about doing my stretching and strength exercises and using my foam roller. I really hope I've managed to accomplish something beneficial. I can't take much more of this self-imposed exile.

Yeah, ITBS is a tough one to work through. I'm trying to get to the start line at Pocono, and I worry that I'm not going to make it.

Your knee explosion feeling is 100% what mine felt like *last* time I had ITBS... good luck.

In the mean time, good luck with the rest/cross training, and enjoy the cookies!

Hopefully the Girl Scout cookies will prove therapeutic. I prefer my Thin Mints straight from the freezer, though. Good luck tonight. Surely your knee has accrued some good karma for supporting the scouts.

I was mercilessly attacked by a box of thin mints the other day, watch out for those innocent looking boxes!

Best wishes for your knee and warmer days in the near future.

Girl scout cookies are what help Mariah Carey hit those high notes.

That ... and years of caterwaul-training at MIC (Teh Michigan Institute of Caterwauling).

I am so glad I didn't get hit up to buy any cookies this year. Though I'm sure I'll see them out selling them somewhere.

Hope the knee gets better. ITBS can be awful and take a long time to heal if you don't let it.

We didn't get any cookies this year and I guess it's a blessing. Seriously though, soooo good.

I love that you live in a region where they have the descriptive names. That's how I sold them back in the day in Montana, only to arrive on the West Coast with cryptic names such as Samoas and Do-si-Dos. WTF?? I want Carmel Delights!!

give in to the temptation, I'm fairly confident one serving in an entire box...or it should be.

hope the group run is pain free.

I'm addicted to thin mints myself. I can finish an entire roll in under ten minutes. I love them frozen, but can't seem to keep them that long LOL.
