Rain Rain Go Away

Just woke up, 9:00 am (ahhhhh). Pouring rain. More on the way. No 8 miles in the rain for me, thank you. Will have breakfast and coffee, reassess situation in a few hours. I'll get my miles done today at some point.

Update #1: Break in rain, 11:00 am. Should take advantage while I can. About to undergo experiment in "how does coffee affect my running?"

Update #2: 8.27 miles, 1:10:08, 8:29/mile, no rain. Caffeine seemed to have no effect, either positive or negative. Weather even more dreary now, glad I went out when I did. Have rest of afternoon to relax. But first, stretching!

Such a good girl, I've been "forgetting" to stretch lately. But I'm not pulling 8 miles out of my backside on a Saturday morning ;-). Great times -- happy Saturday!

Stretching/warm-up exercises are becoming my (secular/humanist/godless/satan-worshipping) religion now. I am not doing under 9 minutes on my runs, yet (*coff*unlike some people on whose blog I could now be typing a comment *ahem*), but at least I'm running pain-free, which is more than I expected to be doing at this point.

Way to kick the weather's @$$ by getting your run in anyway! Take that, Anemoi (nominal Greek gods of storms, but not really, so if Xenia stops by and sees this she'll probably correct me)!1

Nice job..

I always have coffee before my long runs.. Mainly because I like a cup or 5 in the morning, and I don't like to run as soon as I wake up. I've noticed no effects (positive or negative) either.

Wimp. I raced in that rain. There was no break.
